Good Stuff to Know
Whether you are coming for summer camp or a retreat during the year, you are likely to have some questions. We hope this section will answer most of them for you. Click on a link below to jump to the section that applies to you.
• For Summer Camp
Applying online—Summer Camp
While you can still apply using the forms in this brochure, we are trying to save you time and save the world trees by doing as much as we can online. Click on the "Register Now” link to the left to start your application right now. You’ll need to print and complete some pages–consent and medical information forms, etc. You can mail these to us before your camp or bring them with you to registration.
Acceptance info
If you apply online we’ll send your confirmation to the email address you provide. If you apply on paper we’ll mail it to you. Either way we’ll include all the same helpful info—what to bring specifically for your camp, how to get here, contacting your camper and more. The acceptance info will gather together all of the information you’ll need, although much of it is also available here on this website.
Check in
Registration is from 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Sundays. Coming early? While that’s okay, we are not set up to provide early registrations. Since our time between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. is spent preparing for the next week, please plan to be here until your child is registered at 2:30 p.m. Your camper’s first meal here is Sunday supper and their last meal here is the next Sunday breakfast. (For campers staying more than one week, please see the “Extended Camper” and “Discounts” sections below.)
Check out
Check out is from 9-10 a.m. on Sundays. If you can’t pick up your child by 10 a.m., we will provide child care for an additional $10 per hour. To ensure your child’s safety, campers are only allowed to leave after we verify that the photo ID of the adult picking them up matches your instructions to us.
Extended campers
Staying two or more weeks? We’ve got you covered. Campers staying over will be supervised during the transition on Sunday, eat a tasty lunch and have their laundry done so they can start the next week fresh. (It helps amazingly to have all their clothes marked.)
Camp fees
Deposits: A $50 deposit for each camp reserves your spot. This deposit goes toward your camp fees and is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to a different week or camp.
Fees: The fees vary by camp but always include all activities and programming, and three yummy vegetarian meals a day. Purchases at the camp store, souvenir video and photo are not included.
Discounts
Early Bird Discounts: For kids’ camps, if your application is posted online or postmarked by May 15 and includes the $50 deposit, you may take $25 off for each camp. If by April 15, take off $45 for each camp.
Extended Camper Discount: Campers staying longer than one week will get a $20 discount for each week beyond the first one.
On-Line Discount: Complete your application online and take $5 off your camp fees.
Health and medical care
A registered nurse is on duty at camp 24 hours a day. Each of our specialty camps also have certified first aid staff or a registered nurse at all times. In addition, most staff members hold current CPR and first aid certification.

Living with respect
Our expectations for campers are simple: respect yourself, respect others and respect your environment. We have zero tolerance for bullying (any type of physical aggression) and will send a child home immediately.
Photography
We sometimes photograph or record video and/or audio of campers and visitors for promotional purposes. Your presence at Leoni Meadows Camp grants permission for our use of these images and recordings.
Campership fund
Because kids come first at camp, we believe that no child should be turned away because of finances. Through generous support from friends and parents, a campership fund is available to help families with financial needs. For campership fund assistance call early since funds are limited. To contribute, you can use the application form or contact Craig Heinrich, Director.
Bus Schedule
A chartered bus service will be available between Sacramento and camp this summer. Fares will be $50 round trip and $30 one way. You may meet the bus at Sacramento Adventist Academy (5601 Winding Way, Carmichael, CA). A camp staff member will be there to greet you and ensure your child’s safety from drop off to pick up.

Smoke Free Campus
All of Leoni Meadows, both indoors and outside, is smoke free. This is both because we are committed to healthy living and because our 1,000 (very flammable) acres are surrounded by thousands more (very flammable) acres of the El Dorado National Forest. Our commitment to fire prevention not only influences our no smoking policy, but also dictates a number of safety measures relating to all campfires. For this reason, we need you to get specific permission for each and every campfire you may choose to have.
Alcohol and Drug Free Campus
As a Seventh-day Adventist organization, we believe that God created us and wants to dwell within us, if we each allow Him. Thus we aim to avoid those substances that can injure our physical health or impair our reasoning and judgment. As part of this we have chosen to be an alcohol free and drug free place, where we can each best hear the voice of God.
Pet Free Campus
We ask that you not bring pets with you to Leoni Meadows. Pets indoors can cause allergy issues for other guests during and after your stay. Pets outdoors can disturb the local wildlife, or become a meal for other local wildlife. In addition, we can’t predict, and certainly can’t be responsible for, how each pet will react to other guests. Your precious friend at home will truly be more comfortable at home.
Sabbath
Seventh-day Adventists believe that God has not changed His mind on any of the ten commandments. His fourth commandment, to set aside the seventh day of the week for rest and worship, is a blessing as well as a commandment. Because we choose to honor Saturday as our Sabbath, there are certain sports and recreational activities that we do not offer from sundown on Friday evening through sundown on Saturday evening. The Recreation & Activities descriptions note when this is the case. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to rest and seek to know God better. You’ll find no better place to do it.
Campfires
Because our 1,000 (very flammable) acres are surrounded by thousands more (very flammable) acres of the El Dorado National Forest we have a number of safety measures relating to all fires and possible sources of spark. For this reason, we need you to get specific permission for each and every campfire you may choose to have. Thank you for your help with this.
