Youth Camps

No matter what camp you choose - Base Camp, Cowboy, Wrangler in Training, Wilderness, Aquatics or Abba’s Child - you’ll have an incredible time at camp this summer!

Base Camps

Drive a go-kart. Paint ceramics. Ride a horse. Paddle a canoe. Fly down our zip line. Swim in the pond. Drop 60 feet on our Goliath Swing. Test your courage on the quick jump. If you are looking for a camp experience that has a little bit of everything, then base camp is for you.

You’ll sleep in a cabin and make new friends with your cabin mates. A cool, kind counselor will be there to cheer you on and help you have fun. Be sure to sign up early, our base camps fill up fast!

Cowboy Camp

Saddle up. Sleep in a canvas tent. Ride, ride, ride. Care for your own horse. Connect with the God who created the whole outdoors. Pack up on an over-nighter and sleep under the stars.

Cowgirls can come any week or choose our “girls only” week.

Cowboys and cowgirls sleep in field tents on bunks with their counselor and seven other campers. They chow down on vegetarian meals served out of a chuck wagon. The bathhouses have flush toilets and hot showers (a short distance from the field tents).

Wrangler In Training

Work hard. Play hard. If you know how to ride and handle horses and want to learn how to share Jesus with kids while having more fun than you can imagine, give us a try.

To apply, call our office at (530) 626-3610 by May 15. We’ll interview you by phone or in person and let you know if you’re accepted into this special program.

This is your chance to learn what it's like to be a cowboy camp staff member for a week. And it's our chance to learn more about you, in case you want to apply as a full-time staff in the future.

Wilderness Camp

Camp out under the stars all week. Build your own shelter. Test your daring on our challenge course. Backpack. Play in stretches of Dogtown Creek that everyone else misses. See nature as God created it.

This is the camp for outdoor adventure. Some campers sleep in our tents, but many choose to stay in the shelters they've made. During your mid-week backpack trek, you'll learn to cook your food over an open fire. While toilets and showers are available in the wilderness campsite, we don’t pack them along on the backpack trip.

You'll spend all the weekdays camping at Jenkinson Lake in a specially reserved group campground. The vegetarian meals are cooked over camp stoves right on site. Typical campground toilets are located at the campsite and you'll bathe in the lake. We provide sleeping pads.

Abba’s Child

Abba’s Child is designed to minister to children who have experienced the recent death of an immediate family member. The concept is simple; place a grieving child in a place where adventure abounds; surround them with people who understand and relate to what they are going through; then watch as they begin to open up and talk about their feelings.

Leoni Meadows is excited to be able to host this important ministry.

Please plan to be here until your child is registered. Your camper’s first meal here is Sunday supper and their last meal here is Friday supper. Check out is from 5-6 p.m. on Fridays during kids camps. If you can’t pick up your child by 6 p.m., we will provide child care for an additional $15 per 15 minutes. We want our staff to be at their best for our guests, which means we strive to give them ample time off to rest and recharge. Because of our time off schedules, we will not be able to accomodate extended camper care for those staying two or more consecutive weeks.

To ensure your child’s safety, campers are only allowed to leave after we verify that the photo ID of the adult picking them up matches your instructions to us. After you have checked your child out, we are excited to invite you to join us as a family for vespers at 6 p.m.

  • Deposits: A $50 deposit for each camp reserves your spot. This deposit goes toward your camp fees and is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to a different week or camp.

Fees: The fees vary by camp but always include all activities and programming, and three yummy vegetarian meals a day. Purchases at the camp store, theme t-shirt, souvenir video and photo are not included.

Cancellation Policy: We work hard to make sure we have enough lodging, supplies and staff for each camper. Because of the expenses involved to do this, we cannot offer a full refund if your camper should need to leave early. We will, however, be able to offer a partial refund of 75% if they leave on Monday, 50% on Tuesday and 25% on Wednesday.

  • Early Bird Discounts: For kids’ camps, if your application is submitted by May 15 and includes the $50 deposit, you may take $25 off for each camp. If by April 15, take off $50 for each camp.

Extended Camper Discount: Campers staying longer than one week will get a $20 discount for each week beyond the first one. Please note you will have to pick up your child between weeks.

  • A registered nurse is on duty at camp 24 hours a day. Each of our specialty camps also have certified first aid staff or a registered nurse at all times. In addition, staff members hold current CPR and first aid certification.

  • Our camp store offers souvenirs, t-shirts, sweatshirts, ice cream, and other great stuff. We encourage campers to keep any money they bring to camp in the “camp bank” for safety reasons. Money not spent is returned before checkout.

  • Our expectations for campers are simple: respect yourself, respect others and respect your environment. We have zero tolerance for bullying. Any type of physical aggression will result in that child being sent home immediately.

  • We sometimes photograph or record video and/or audio of campers and visitors for promotional purposes. Your presence at Leoni Meadows Camp grants permission for our use of these images and recordings.

  • Because kids come first at camp, we believe that no child should be turned away because of finances. Through generous support from friends and parents, a campership fund is available to help families with financial needs. For campership fund assistance call early since funds are limited. To contribute, you can go online to: leonimeadows.org or contact Craig Heinrich, our Executive Director.

  • Leoni Meadows Camp is owned and operated by the Northern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Leoni Meadows has been offering Christian camping since 1978. Camp fees are used only for daily operational expenses with capital improvement projects being funded by generous supporters and the Northern California Conference.
